We have been here for a month and we are slowly getting settled. The weather welcomed us with a 70 mile an hour wind storm and a week of below average temps with a high in the mid 20's. We also had the first snow of the season last Sunday. Warren and I enjoyed staring out the window watching the snow fall all day.
Anacortes is definately small town living complete with street lights hanging from wires and bars where everyone knows your name. We already run into people we know around town. One of the waitress' at one of our favorite places recognizes us and comes over for a chat when we come in.
Over the Thanksgiving weekend my parents brought sunshine with them to visit. Here are some pictures from their visit.
I am going to wrap this one up with a small list I have been compiling. You know you don't live in San Diego anymore when.....
You go to Home Depot and everyone is walking out with a snow shovel.
There is a dude at the gym on they elliptical wearing a huge full overnight hiking pack to keep in shape until hiking season starts again.
On the way home from the store you see deer eating your neighbor's plants.
The local weather man tells you it's time to put your jackets away and pull out your coats. Who even knew there was a difference?
I'm in shopping purgatory. I already know the weekday and weekend FedEx person.
A warm weather day is when the temperature will reach 50 degrees.
Happy Holidays!
Z and Dub
